If the Shoe Fits...Buy It!

On February 19th 2011, Project Runway season 4 winner Christian Siriano debuted his very own shoe and handbag collection for Payless. In 2012 that collection was expanded and brought us new and amazing styles for us. Luckily for me I found the perfect pair of Siriano's black patent leather pumps, oh and did I mention I bought them for $7.00?! That's right ladies, this pair was once $32.99 but because of the new fashion season coming and plus Payless sales these lovely pumps were a bargain. Besides a classic black heel will never go out of style, exspecially at that price.

Mum's The Word; Best Kept Fashion Secrets

As if juggling everything in our daily lives wasn't hard enough, fashion trends are constantly changing, and trying to keep up with all of them is a grueling job in itself. As hectic as life can get, it's important to look and feel your best, be the super human who looks great, fashion forward, and put together even when the world is dishing out it's craziest of obstacles. Now every superhero has their little secrets and special tricks, and so can you! Thor has the enchanted Belt of Strength, and his signature weapon, the mystical hammer Mjolnir, Batman has an infinite bank account, and you can have a few tricks up your sleeve yourself...

1. Fashion Tape

With Fashion tape you can wear any style of clothing, from the latest cut-out trends to the iconic deep-V. You don't have to worry about fashion mishaps anymore or pesky safety pins ruining your favorite top.
Uses:
• Keep bra straps from slipping
• Prevent blouse gaps between buttons
• Secure plunging necklines
• Hold belts, scarves, and straps in place
• Perfect for quick hemming and other emergency repairs
• Keep wrap styles wrapped
•Holds up strapless tops or dresses

2. Bra Converting Clips

Bra's can be very expensive and sometimes you can't always find the perfect convertible bra that comfortable or even works with all your clothes. That's why bra converting clips can be a girls new best friend. They convert any one of your bras to a cross-back style to hide pesky straps, they even give your breast a bit of lift.
Uses:
• Hides bra straps when wearing a tank top and racer-back styles
• Keeps bra straps from slipping
• Lifts breasts and gives more cleavage
• Use two clips if additional support is needed

3. Hem Tape

Your favorite clothes are definitely subject to some wear-and-tear, and every now and then you have to fix the hemming on a few pieces. But what happens when you don't have time to fix your pencil skirt? Well that's where temporary hem tape comes into play!
Uses:
• For adjusting jeans hem, jacket cuffs, dress pants, skirts, dresses.
• Portable for on-the-go repairs.

4. No-Show Counselors
For when you can't or don't want to wear a bra, try nipple concealers. No-Show Concealers are natural looking and comfortable to wear, they also create a smooth appearance under any clothing.
Uses:
• Perfect under t-shirts, sheer tops and dresses
• Great when you want to go braless or your bra has no padding
• Ideal for swimwear
• Anytime you need to “de-perkify” (as someone that does theatre, this happens more often than you think)

5. Garment Shields

Always stay fresh, clean, and dry. Antiperspirant isn't always enough for some people there is nothing more embarrassing then realizing new sweat stains coming through a jacket or blazer. Garment shields are self-adhesive, disposable underarm protection.
Uses:
• Prevents embarrassing underarm wetness
• Protects fabrics from permanent stains
• Keeps underarm odors off clothing

6. Breast Lift Tape

Lets face it, some girls are just a little more perky than others. Plus we woman also have to worry about earth's gravitational pull. But with a little help from some breast lift tape it will give you a natural-looking lift that enhances your whole look while giving you the freedom to wear whatever you want.
Uses:
• Perfect for plunging necklines, backless dresses or any time you want to go braless.
• Made of super-thin, nearly invisible, hypoallergenic adhesive.

7. SoleMates; Heel Protectors

Heels can be a girls best friend or a worst nightmare. Now that it's summer, we ladies get to dress up for weddings, garden parties or just fun nights out, but I personally hate it when my best pair of heels act as a garden tool to sink into the grass and air out the lawn. Now there is a wonderful little accessory to help prevent your heels form sinking or falling into cracks. So next time you're out make sure you have a pair of these heel protectors.
Uses:
• Walk confidently on cobble stone, brick, grates, grass, and more

Now that you've learned about these few fashion secrets, you can go on and conquer the world with little worries!

Belated Birthday Gifts!

My birthday was June 22, but my lovely Aunt from Philadelphia just came to visit and just gave me my belated birthday gifts. Needless to say, she definitely knows what I like!

One of the gifts I received from her was a box filled with one hundred postcards with different VOGUE covers through out the history of VOGUE Magazine

Next I got a beautiful bracelet which is decorated with different vintage advertizement posters. I saw this in a bookstore/cafe near South Street in Philly and my Aunt remembered that I really wanted it.

She also got me another bracelet and coin purse from one of my favorite stores, Ten Thousand Villages. All of the items they sell are handmade and come from all around the world. Ten Thousand Villages creates opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to their selling markets. All through fair trade. The beaded bracelet was created by artisans from Bali through a nonprofit organization called Yayasan Mitra Bali. The kitenge coin purse is made by artisans in Tanzania.

D.I.Y Vintage Button Necklace!

Feeling crafty and don't want to spend a lot of money on a great statement necklace? Go to your local craft store or even see what you have laying around the house to make your own vintage style necklace!

What You'll Need
  1. Hot glue gun
  2. Jewelry chain
  3. Needle & thread
  4. Old vintage buttons
  5. Piece of craft felt
Directions
  1. Take the sheet of crafting felt and lay it down, then begin to arrange your assorted buttons into a formation you like.
  2. Once you know where you want each button to go, take the hot glue gun and glue each button to the craft felt. After it is dried, cut around the edges so there is no exposing felt.
  3. Now take your jewelry chain and sew each end to both of the ends of the felt/button piece.
  4. Now you have your very own vintage necklace to add something special to your next outfit.
Notes:
  • Pick a dark piece of felt, preferably black or a dark navy blue.
  • You don't have to stick to only buttons to be on your necklace, make it your own! Add other charms or cameos you may find in a craft store.
